Lawmakers are planning on spending part of their summer in Springfield. It's because they couldn't work out a pension deal but working in the summer means spending money the state doesn't have.
Speaker Michael Madigan confirms the state may have to dish out the cash to bring lawmakers back to Springfield. That could total nearly 20-thousand dollars a day to pay per diem's to each legislator. Depending on how long it takes to push the measure through, the number could add up pretty quickly.
