A local teacher was sentenced on Monday in relation to a theft against a club at the school where he worked.  44-year-old Timothy A. Reed of Jerseyville was accused of stealing more than $10,000 from the Future Farmers of America at Southwestern High School.  Reed was the club sponsor.

Jersey County State's Attorney, Ben Goetten, told the Big Z about Reed's sentence.

Reed has spent the last 9 months in Jersey County Jail and is being released on time served. He will also have to serve 2 years of conditional discharge. Reed has been banned from Southwestern High school where he had worked for 16 years.
