Much of Illinois is going to get hit by another winter storm, although the Riverbend may come out of this storm fairly well. Forecasters say portions of central Illinois could be in line for up to half a foot of snow by the time the storm moves out of the state tomorrow. In the Riverbend, a light glazing began to develop during the noon hour, but road crews were quick to spray area roads with salt.
IDOT's Joe Monroe says if you are heading out tonight, you should be ok if you exercise common sense and courtesy behind the wheel.
The bulk of the snow should be out of here by mid-evening, allowing crews to clean up the mess overnight, according to Monroe. There have been a few weather-related cancellations. Tonight's boys varsity basketball game in Bethalto between the CM Eagles and the Jersey Panthers has been cancelled. The Roxana at EA/WR game has been moved up to 6:30, and you can hear that game on Z-1570 and here at AltonDailyNews.com. Saturday's ACT Test at Alton High School has also been cancelled.
