You will find some snow on the roads during your morning commute today.  While the snow has stopped falling, road crews are battling below freezing temperatures and some pavement is refreezing.  There are some school closings so there could be less traffic, but still give yourself extra time to get to where you’re going.

Illinois Department of Transportation Engineer Joe Monroe tells The Big Z having more cars on the roads this morning will help the process:

The snowy roads may have caused an accident last night on Highway 267 near Kemper.  Illinois State Police report the crash took place on 267 at Kemper Road around 9:35pm when a car turned in front of a tractor-trailer. Medora Fire and EMS responded to the scene, but no injuries were reported.  Traffic was blocked for about 3 hours.  The Riverbend received around 3-4 inches of snow overnight and now we should be snow free for the next few days.
