An earthquake with a magnitude three-point-six hit parts of southern Illinois on Tuesday.  The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake's epicenter was northwest of Mount Carmel around 5:30 last night.  No damage was reported.  The area is called the Ozark Dome Region, and is frequently struck by minor earthquakes.

Mount Carmel is located east of Mt. Vernon, on the Illinois-Indiana state line.
