Southern Illinois university in Edwardsville gets three out of five stars when it comes to welcoming gay and lesbian students.  That's according to Campus Pride, a non-profit organization which recently surveyed schools based on the policies and services they offer.  The group says SIUE has come a long way but still has work to do.

The university allows gay couples to live in family housing units, just like heterosexual couples, makes efforts to put gay students in dorms with people who are comfortable with them, has gender-neutral restrooms on campus, and prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation.
