If you are a student or a parent of a student at SIUE, you may be dealing with a tuition and fee increase for the 2014-2015 school year. In addition to tuition, the changes could affect housing occupancy rates, information technology, intercollegiate athletics, and textbook rental. Tuition could go up 5 percent, which would result in a $366 increase over last year for newly entering, in-state undergraduates on the Edwardsville campus.
The 5 percent increase would amount to a total of $7,662. The textbook rental fee would increase by $21, which is a 5.7% bump. A full-time undergraduate student would pay an Intercollegiate Athletics fee of nearly $353, which is an increase of $11.50. Housing fees would vary depending upon several factors. The Board of Trustees will consider fee increases in a number of areas at its next meeting on April 10.
