University officials at SIU-Edwardsville have announced more than $1.5-million of construction work that will improve campus roadways and the university's baseball facility. Starting this summer, work will begin to resurface Hairpin Drive, a portion of North University Drive and access to the University cross country course. The project includes improvements to the intersection of North University Drive and North Circle Drive, the overlaying of Whiteside Road, East University Drive, Cougar Lake Drive, Cougar Village Road, and other supporting roadways.
SIUE Executive Director of Marketing and Communications Doug McIlhagga says this project also includes the installation of a synthetic surface at the University's baseball complex.

McIlhagga says these projects are being funded by University Plan Funds. University officials hope to have both projects completed by mid-September.
