The Simpson Memorial Tennis Complex at Gordon Moore Park will see some upgrades in the coming weeks thanks to funds raised by a group of concerned citizens. The Simpson Memorial Tennis Program donated $3,000 to the City to be used for repairs to the aging facility earlier this week.
Alton Public Works Director Bob Barnhardt admits the facility has been neglected in the past and says the first step will be patching the courts that are in the worst shape.

Barnhardt says patch-work began last Monday and that this is a great opportunity for the City to work with the public toward a common goal.
