Shortly after Halloween, the bell ringers of the Salvation Army will begin standing in front of local stores and shopping centers and ringing bells for donations.  The Salvation Army has been serving those in need for more than 100 years and volunteers are needed to ring bells again this season.

There are 300 volunteers registered at this time, which leaves 1,200 open slots that need to be filled.  There are two ways to register, go to the link below, or call to sign up at 465-7764. Click on the state of Illinois, click on Alton, and sign up for a location near you.
