The weather in the Riverbend has a tendency to turn rough on occasion, so the recent implementation of Godfrey's Disaster Plan has the village's Public Safety Administrator breathing a sigh of relief. After a few "practice runs," Chris Sichra says everyone did what was expected of them and made the post-flooding response easier to get through than was the case in many communities.
Sichra tells The Big Z having gone through the emergency, he's confident in the ability to handle future disasters.

As for protecting yourself ahead of a weather emergency, Sichra and most other first responders are sold on the Code Red warning system. Code Red is voluntary, and the user must sign up through the company website if they want to be notified by either home landline phone or by cell phone.
