The Telegraph has named Jim Shrader as its new publisher. Shrader will return to the local newspaper after spending the past 20 months as vice president of sales at WBGZ Radio. While serving at The Telegraph, he will also be the publisher of The Jacksonville Journal-Courier. Both newspapers are owned by Civitas Media.
Shrader began with The Telegraph as advertising director from 1989 to 1992. He returned as publisher from 1998 until April of 2013. He joined WBGZ Radio in January 2014 and says returning to the newspaper business is a bit of a surprise:

He replaces Joseph Craig as publisher, who left the area earlier this month to take on publishing roles in South Carolina. Shrader expects to maintain a relationship with The Big Z, having in the past served as co-host of local election coverage and a guest on Let’s Talk.
