It was a quick meeting for the Alton City Council Committee of the Whole on Tuesday night. Meeting on Tuesday after the regular Monday meeting was bumped due to the Veterans Day holiday, the councilmen and women breezed through the handful of items on the agenda.
The city will be selling old trailers to a city resident, annexing 3777 Culp Lane, awarding a demolition contract for 1254 State Street and 421 Mildred, and is buying property at 1900 Muny Vista Court at a price not to exceed $6,500. That land is currently a vacant lot adjacent to the former Wadlow Golf Course that the city is buying to allow for more flexibility in the design of the Multi-Modal Transportation Station. It may eventually wind up as a buffer for noise and visual distractions between the facility and the neighbors. The full council meets tonight at City Hall at 7:30 to discuss these and other topics.
