Big box stores are preparing for round two of shoppers for the kick off to the holiday shopping season.  Pre-Black Friday sales on Thanksgiving Day proved to be fairly popular and more and more people ventured out on Thursday night.  There were large crowds outside the Kohl’s and Target stores last night when they opened at six.


Other national retailers will open this morning offering their big deals.  Locally owned businesses are taking part in Small Business Saturday, designed to shine the light on smaller businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  The Riverbend Growth Association is partnering with two-dozen businesses to offer specials through Sunday.  Go to for details.
