Authorities are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting that took place in an Alton neighborhood on Saturday afternoon. Alton Police responded to a call of shots fired at residence in the 2400 block of Johnson Street and found one victim who was transported to a local hospital and then airlifted to a St. Louis hospital for additional treatment. The condition of the victim has not been released.
Few details are also available about the suspected shooter. Detectives from the Alton Police Department spent much of Saturday afternoon canvassing the neighborhood to gather witness testimony. As of this morning, police have not released a description of the suspect or the vehicle they were allegedly in at the time of the shooting. The case remains under investigation and we’ll have more information as it’s available on the Big Z and at AltonDailyNews.com.
