The Republican candidate for Madison County State's Attorney is claiming she is being kept out of the upcoming Labor Day Parades in Alton and Granite City.  Amy Sholar says she supports the cause of organized labor, and feels that any candidate, Republican or Democrat, should be allowed to participate if they demonstrate such support.

Sholar comments

Sholar will face Democrat Tom Gibbons, who was appointed to the post in 2010 after former State's Attorney Bill Mudge became a circuit judge. Officials with the Greater Madison County Federation of Labor declined an offer to respond, pending the advice of their legal counsel.
