A federal judge has ruled that a Missouri couple be held until a trial on sex trafficking charges.  28-year-old Marcus Thompson and 24-year-old Robin Thompson of Park Hills, Missouri, are charged with sex trafficking of a minor and conspiracy.  They allegedly picked up a 15-year-old girl on a street in Madison in June with a promise of making money by modeling.

Prosecutors allege the couple used 12 to 18 year old girls in a child prostitution operation, working in several states over the summer including in the St. Louis area.  Authorities told the judge during a hearing on Monday for Robin Thompson that they believed she would attempt to flee the area and return to the sex trade business.   Judge Stephen Williams ordered that she be held until her trial.  Marcus Thompson waived his right to a detention hearing and is also being held until his trial.  The 15-year-old girl reported the incident to officials at a St. Louis hospital in late July, who then contacted police.
