After two years of construction, the Wood River sewer separation project wrapped up in the summer of 2013. The project took about two years to complete, having started in July of 2011. It is a project that Mayor Fred Ufert says was on his to-do list since being elected as a council member in 1999.
Ufert says with the help of State Senator Bill Haine and State Representative Dan Beiser, they were able to secure state funding for the project.

He says the new lines performed well in the spring and summer's heavy rains, with no significant flooding to report.
