The planned construction of a new convenience store in Godfrey could start soon, as an infrastructure project in the area is wrapping up. An extension of the sewer line in the northern part of the village is nearly complete to the area where CC Food Marts is planning a new store.
Godfrey Trustee Jeff Weber, who chairs the Special Projects Sewer Committee, tells The Big Z the project is nearly done.

The former Tomy’s Quik Check gas station in Godfrey was torn down to make way for a CC Food Marts store late last year. A timeline to begin construction has not been set.
