Flooding in the area surrounding Alton Middle School has been an issue for a number of years but a project currently underway on school grounds should change that. Alton Public Works Director Bob Barnhart says the project was the result of an agreement between Alton Mayor Brant Walker and the Alton School district who found a common goal, improving life for residents in the area.
Barnhart tells The Big Z the project is progressing nicely.

Barnhart adds there is always the possibility of running into an unforeseen issue but maintains that crews are optimistic about the project wrapping up early.
