Medicaid recipients in Illinois will once again have dental and podiatric care covered. Under the law signed by Gov. Pat Quinn, the cuts made to those services in 2012 will be restored. “It’s very important that we enact reforms that protect the public and the taxpayers, while at the same time providing quality health care to all of those that are clients of the systems,” Quinn said.

Funding for those restored services will be helped by the $2.4 billion in federal funds the state expects to receive under the Affordable Care Act. The law also expands Medicaid coverage to children who go more than three months without being covered by private health insurance.
