Separate Madison County burglaries have resulted in felony charges against the alleged assailants. Authorities say the incidents both happened on Monday afternoon, one in Godfrey at the Wal-Mart, and the other crime in Granite City. In each case a pair of suspects has been charged and taken into custody.
In Godfrey, 31-year-old Jessica Rodgers and 26-year-old Timothy Rodgers of the 3400 block of East Broadway in Alton were alleged to have taken two flat screen televisions and a desktop computer without having paid for the items at the Godfrey Wal-Mart. The couple was identified by investigators and arrested on Wednesday. They were each held on $50,000 bond.
Authorities say 21-year-old Seth Phillips of the 3800 block of Omega in Alton and 21-year-old Dustin Dunaway of the 4500 block of State Route 162 in Granite City were allegedly in possession of two stolen televisions and a firearm when sheriff's deputies conducted an investigation into a burglary at the home of a neighbor of Dunaway. Both men were held on $80,000 bond.
