The annual Scouting for Food pick-up day is this Saturday. The Lewis and Clark Council of Boys Scouts of America handed out the bags on front doors across the Riverbend last weekend and will be back tomorrow to collect the non-perishable food items to help stock up local food pantries for the winter.
Kevin Botterbush of the Piasa Bird District says this is a big annual event:

If you plan to donate, they suggest canned meats, soups, canned fruits and vegetables, canned chili, or plastic jars of peanut butter. Please no glass containers, no frozen foods or anything already opened or outdated foods. You’re asked to have those filled bags out by your front door by 9am Saturday.
