School and law enforcement officials in the Southwestern School District have ended a lockdown of school buildings and believe they have resolved the case of the most recent threatening note found in one of the school buildings. The district has had to deal with a lockdown of facilities for about a week after such notes were found on two separate occasions.
In the first case, a note was found at the high school early last week and a juvenile is suspected of writing that letter and faces prosecution. In the second case, a note was found in the middle school last Thursday prompting another lockdown that lasted through Tuesday of this week. A juvenile is also suspected in that case and could face charges. Superintendent Brad Skertich says since the incident involves students, he is limited on what he can say about the case other than it has been resolved to the satisfaction of school and law enforcement personnel.
