With funding still an issue, the Alton School Board has given notice to one part-time certified employee and eleven full-time first and second year non-tenured teachers they would not be returning to work in the fall, unless something changes. It was classified as an Honorable Dismissal, which is used in cases where staff is let go for economic reasons rather than for performance reasons.
