The Alton School Board approved the contract struck between the Alton Education Association and the Alton School District at the school board meeting last night. Also at the meeting a few students were honored and a complaint was heard from a parent about the safety of the weight room at the high school.
The vote in favor of the contract was 251-202, narrowly avoiding a strike.
AEA President Brenda Powers says the employees of the district deserve a lot more.
