Five students from the area have been awarded scholarships from the Community Advisory Panel of the Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery.  The students will received $1,000 each for a community college, university or trade school, and were honored at a recent dinner hosted by the refinery.

To participate in the scholarship contest, high school seniors were required to have demonstrated drive, commitment and leadership within the community.  This year, the students honored are Emma Morrissey and Bradley Higdon of Alton High, Tori Covington of East Alton Wood River High, Allison Wyrsch and Meredith Buller of Civic Memorial High School.  The students were presented their scholarships during award recognition ceremonies at their schools, and were guests at the Wood River Refinery’s annual Community Leaders’ Dinner last week.
