A full-scale investigation could be launched against Republican Congressman Aaron Schock of Peoria for allegedly violating campaign finance laws. The Office of Congressional Ethics found there is substantial reason to believe Schock asked donors to contribute five-thousand dollars for a Super PAC.
Schock (pictured) isn't the only Illinois Congressman in hot water. The OCE says freshman Congressman Rodney Davis, a Republican of Taylorville, should be subpoenaed in a full probe because he wouldn't cooperate with the initial review, and didn't reveal whether Schock had any direct involvement with allegedly soliciting the money. At the time of the alleged incident, Davis was identified as the Super PAC's managing director.
