The Illinois Republican Party has a new leader. Cook County Commissioner Tim Schneider was elected by a landslide on Saturday to a four year term as GOP chairman. He is a small business owner from northwest suburban Bartlett and has been a commissioner since 2007.
Schneider replaces Jack Dorgan, who is taking a position as co-chairman of the finance committee for Republican gubernatorial nominee Bruce Rauner.
