The Salvation Army is sending out thanks to all of those who donated to the Tree of Lights campaign over the holidays, and is excited to see the strength of the last-minute push that helped the Red Kettle Campaign surpass its goal. The goal was $108,000, and the total was not only met, but exceeded.
Just over $91,631 had been collected in the final days of the campaign that ends on Christmas Eve. Captain Randy Tolley says after all of the money was collected, the campaign had raised almost $115,000.
Tooley says he always had faith the community would come through. The Red Kettle Campaign is one part of the bigger Tree of Lights campaign, which raised about a quarter-million dollars this year through the kettles, mail campaign, and other donations.
