The Salvation Army is sending out thanks to all of those who donated to the Tree of Lights campaign over the holidays, and hoping for a last minute swell of support. The Tree of Lights goal was $108,000, but donations are coming in slower than at this time last year. With the wrap-up of the Red Kettle Campaign this weekend, donations are running at the 85% percent mark.
A total of $91,631 has been collected so far. Salvation Army Captain Randy Tooley says that is a little behind last year's mark.
Tooley says he has faith the community will come through, and will continue to spread the message of hope. You can still donate at any Red Kettle, or call 465-7764 for more information.
