Since the Red Cross office in Alton closed late last month, the Alton Salvation Army has been filling some of the void as it pertains to single-family house fires.  It has already been pressed into service a time or two to help displaced Riverbend residents find temporary housing following a blaze.  With the added responsibility, comes an added need for funding.

Alton Salvation Army Lieutenant Teri Ellison says they are ready for the extra work.
