The Alton Salvation Army's Red Kettle campaign fell short of its goal this season, but there is reason for optimism according to at least one agency official.  Salvation Army Lieutenant Terri Ellison tells The Big Z while the bottom line may not be what they had hoped to see, comparing the numbers pulled in where the kettles were attended this year paints a different picture.

The Red Kettle campaign goal this year was $103,000, and they raised just over $67,000.  Through the end of the month Ellison says they are wrapping up their mail-in campaign, and reminds anyone who received a letter to send it in soon.
