For more than 5 decades, listeners to Z-1570 have been showing their generosity through support of the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign.  It was no different today, as the annual Children's Day broadcast prompted $3,161 in pledges.  The money will be used right here in the River Bend for families and individuals in need during Christmas and beyond.    

This year's local goal is $115,000.  Salvation Army Regional Shelter Administrator Leslie Mar'Na says 86-cents of every dollar raised is put back into the local community:
