The Illinois Department of Public Health has some tips to keep families safe as the summer swimming season heats up.  Some safety tips include keeping an eye on children in the water and not relying on their floaties of life jacket to keep them from drowning.

Public Health Spokesman Melaney Arnold says bacterial contamination is also a concern.
