The Drug Free Alton Coalition is asking teens and parents to be especially vigilant this graduation season, as parties often carry the temptation for teens to drink or experiment with drugs. The coalition provides support for various local safe and drug-free activities such as after-grad parties, but they realize that not all will hear the message. The hope is that the organization can continue to speak to as many kids for as long as possible.

DFA serves the communities of Alton, Brighton, Cottage Hills and Godfrey, all within the Alton School District #11 area. A recent study shows that of 10th graders in the area, 37% report drinking alcohol in the past month, and 29% report smoking marijuana in the past month.
