Teachers in the Roxana School District have come to a tentative agreement on a new contract. The agreement calls for a 1% salary increase to all teachers' base salary, even if they have not achieved the maximum salary step. The tentative agreement comes after seven months of negotiations.

It also grants allowances for step increases and maintains the same percentage of insurance coverage as the last contract. About a month ago, the Roxana School Board approved a 3 percent pay increase for administrators, and was equal to a pay hike provided to bus drivers and other non-certified staff in the district. The teachers union rejected two previous contract offers from the district. The agreement is expected to be ratified next week.
