Planned lane closures will begin today along Illinois Route 140 in Bethalto as the Illinois Department of Transportation begins a planned patching and repaving project. The work will focus on the portion of the road stretching from just west of the intersection with Route 111 to east of Moreland Road, Supervising Field Engineer Barry Gibbs says that traffic should flow pretty smoothly.

Gibbs Comments

Gibbs says they asked the contractor to work on the intersection of Routes 111 and 140 at night so that it wouldn't complicate school bus routes from Cottage Hills to Bethalto. The project is scheduled to be finished by December 21st.
