Founded March 1, 1921, the Alton - Godfrey Rotary Club recently celebrated its 95th anniversary. About 80 Rotarians and guests attended a banquet at the Atrium Hotel in Alton.
Past president Josh Farley, provided a history of the Rotary from its founding in 1921 to 1979. Another past president, Bill Moyer tells The Big Z of one of the early projects.

Rotary has been involved in a number of community service projects over the years, including the riverboat mural that greets motorists on Landmarks Boulevard as they enter Alton, the statues at Lincoln - Douglas Square, and the numerous fountains around the city.
