Alton Police are on the look out for two men who they say  robbed an Alton convenience store at gun point earlier this week. According to a report from Alton Police, the two men entered A-Town Spot on Central Avenue around 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday night with their guns drawn. The suspects then split up, with one of the men demanding money from the cash register while the other held an employee at gun point. The suspects removed the money from the register and fled the store with close to $250 in cash.

Alton Police were called to the scene minutes later and began searching for the suspects with assistance from a canine unit from the East Alton Police Department, but were unable to locate the robbers after losing their scent near Pleasant Street.

The suspects are described as black males wearing black jackets with hoods pulled over their heads, black jeans and white athletic shoes. The man who allegedly pulled his gun on the cashier is believed to be 5 feet 6 inches tall, the other suspect is about 6 feet 2 inches tall. Anyone with information about the robbers is asked to call Alton police at 463-3505 or the anonymous tip line at 465-5948.
