After numerous delays the work on Roosevelt Street in Bethalto is almost finished. Bethalto Public Works Director Joe Ricci updated village officials on the progress being made during last night’s board meeting. Ricci says that phase one has been finished but wouldn’t give an exact timeline for the completion of Phase 2.
The completion of phase one allowed for the portion of Roosevelt between Prairie and Lee streets to be reopened and Ricci says that he is hopeful that work on phase 2 is completed before Labor Day.
In related business, Mayor Bryant also announced that the Central Street repaving project has been scheduled to start during the first week of September, so that it will not interfere with the annual Bethalto Homecoming, which will take place over Labor Day Weekend.
