Road conditions around the Riverbend and the St. Louis area are much improved from Wednesday morning. Overall, between 4-6 inches of snow fell in our area, with lesser amounts in St. Louis and south, but the storm did cause a number of fender benders and cars off the road as well as a few accidents involving injuries.
Most primary and secondary roads are in good shape today with only a few scattered slick spots. Rural roads, side streets and some neighborhood roads might still have a little snow and ice on them this morning, so use caution as you head out. Yesterday, the Illinois State Police answered almost three-dozen calls on local interstates, including two with injuries. Madison County answered about a dozen calls of either crashes or cars in the ditch. The next chance for snow is tomorrow night and Saturday.
