Roads are fairly clear today after the New Year’s night storm that dropped between 2 and 4 inches on most of the Riverbend. While that storm is now causing problems on the east coast, local road crews are gearing up for the next storm, which is forecast to bear down on the region by Sunday.
IDOT’s Joe Monroe says the most recent snow was very powdery, so drifting was the major concern.

The storm that is predicted this weekend will likely be a wetter snow, according to Monroe, and that will be followed with some of the coldest temperatures seen in over a decade.
