If you have an interest in monitoring and helping maintain the quality of the region’s waterways then a pair of upcoming workshops may be worth your while.  The Illinois RiverWatch Network will host a pair of events that will allow those in attendance to become citizen scientists according to RiverWatch Coordinator Matthew Young.

The first workshop will be held on March 28 at the National Great Rivers Research and Education Center. A second event is scheduled for May 2nd at The Nature Institute in Godfrey. Young tells The Big Z the program will be similar at both events.
