It's not always easy for Illinois' many tourism bureaus to get the word out about their product, so a group of agencies recently gathered to swap ideas. Statistics show the industry remains a vital player in the state's economy. Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau President Brett Stawar says locally, there is no shortage of attractions.
Those include outdoor features like parasailing, canoeing, zip lining, and a number of other warm-weather activities. Even when the weather cools, Stawar says activities like bird watching draws crowds.
