The income gap between rich and poor Illinois residents is among one of the highest in the nation.  The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities conducted the study over the last decade.  It showed the state's poor lost more than 15-percent of their income, while the rich gained 22-percent.  

Missouri's gap was nine-percent among the poorest while the richest gained seven-percent.  See the full list of states at the link:
