Homeowners on several streets neighboring Roxana High School have set up an open meeting tonight at the bleachers at the high school's football field to discuss a plan to prevent their streets from becoming filled with the vehicles driven by high school students. Residents who live on Chaffer, East Thomas and Doerr are concerned that the Village Board's decision to repeal an ordinance requiring permits for neighborhood streets and prohibiting students from parking in front of their homes will lead to extra congestion and interfere with everyday life.

The ordinance, repealed on August 19th, had been in place for eight years. It required residents to provide the village with information about their vehicle every August. Residents would then receive a sticker to place on their car and a placard to provide to guests. Village officials say the decision will save about $500 per year.
