The annual Relay for Life Riverbend to benefit the American Cancer Society takes place tonight in Roxana near the Rox-Arena. The main fundraising event of the year for the organization will host dozens of teams on the softball field at Roxana Park, who will hold an all-night walk in honor of those who are battling, or who have lost their battle with, cancer.
David Watts is the chair of the Relay for Life and says it’s one of the best events in the area all year:

There is no admission to attend the event which begins at 6pm, but most teams will be holding their own fundraisers throughout the night to raise more money for the Relay. The Luminaria ceremony, which will honor those who lost their fight with cancer, will take place at 9:30pm. The event goes all night until the closing ceremony at 5am Saturday.
