A new reenactment festival is being launched today in Grafton.  The first Pere Marquette Rendezvous will be held today and tomorrow along the riverside, across from the visitor's center.  The activities run today from 10am-5pm, and Sunday from 9am-2pm.  Reenactors will portray the fur traders and buyers typical of the region prior to 1840.

Event spokesman Luke Reinhold says this will be a kid-friendly event.

Reinhold comments

He says this event is similar to reenactments at Fort Massac or Prairie Du Rocher, or the now-defunct Heritage Days that was held at Lewis & Clark Community College for decades before folding a couple of years ago.  The event is free to attend, but you may want to bring some spending money for food and souveniers.
