The American Red Cross has been teaming up with fire departments across the country since late last year to get more working smoke alarms in houses and apartments. The aim of the Home Fire Preparedness Campaign is to reduce the number of deaths and injuries from home fires in this country by as much as 25% in the next five years.
The campaign recently came to Godfrey. Katie Slonaker, Red Cross Disaster Program Manager, tells The Big Z the campaign will be coming to Godfrey May 16th.
